Adriana Ocampo
Adriana Ocampo Uria was borned in Barranquilla, Colombia. She is a planetary geologist and director of the Science Program at NASA. She completed her Ph.D. at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam in The Netherlands and was part of the research team that first identified evidence from the Chicxulub crater.
Adriana received the Woman of the Year Award in Science from the Comisión Femenil in L.A. in 1992 and was named one of the 50 Most Important Women in Science in 2002. She became a Geolatinas Advisor in 2019.
